About

Hi, I’m Paul Thisted.
I grew up in Minnesota, majored in Art at St Olaf College, then served in the Air   Force for 20 years. 
After serving my country, I retired and taught middle-school math for 19 years.
I raised two sons, and moved to Evergreen in 2005.
(Got my grandson in there too.)

The landscape artists I have studied with include Dave Santillanes, Jill Carver, G Russell Case, Ovanes Berberian, Don Sahli, Susie Hyer  & Pem Dunn. 
I enjoy plein air painting in the natural beauty of Colorado.
I capture images with my own sketches and photography and transform them into oil paintings.
I am inspired by the beauty, stories, and colors of the American West.
